certSIGN, a UTI company and the main Certification Services Provider in Romania, together with nCipher, world leader in providing hardware security equipment, organized an event dedicated to information security.
The event eloquently called “Business. How we SEE IT” took place on November 21st 2008, at the Intercontinental hotel in Bucharest and gathered both public institutions and private companies, such as: Romtelecom, Vodafone, BCR, Raiffeisen, RTC, GE Money, Omniasig Pensii, Provision, the Ministry of Justice, the Special Telecommunications Service, Ministry of Defense, the National Registry Office for Classified Information, Distrigaz Sud, Transfond, the National Health Insurance House, Teletrans, the Protection and Guard Service. The participants thus had the occasion to be informed on the meaning of “Secure Electronic Environment” (SEE).
State-of-the-art information security products and solutions were presented at the event. nCipher defended the importance of managing cryptographic keys in an institution, as well as its own products.
certSIGN presented the implementation approach for a Public Key infrastructure, in order to protect information classified as Confidential, and launched the services of non-repudiable e-mail and electronic invoice services. All these products and services were developed by certSIGN, entirely in Romania, with its own resources, thus proving that the Romanian industry of information security has reached its maturity.
In addition, certSIGN has made a practical demonstration, to present the great advantages of the new electronic invoice service. The demonstration consisted in issuing 50,000 electronically-signed and time-stamped invoices, in real time. The performance of the new system is of approximately 350 invoices issued per second. This demonstration proved the capabilities of the electronic invoice service, developed by certSIGN, Issuing no less than 3 million electronic bills, in an approximate interval of 3 hours, was thus possible.
In order to cater for the interest and receptivity to the presented solutions, certSIGN will organize other similar events, to increase the awareness of the importance of applying the concepts of information security, within the institutions.
