ORNISS Certification - shellSAFE

On July 18th 2008, the certSAFE and shellSAFE products were certified by the National Registry Office for Classified Information (ORNISS) concerning the processing of classified information, up to the CONFIDENTIAL level.

According to Law no. 182/2002, concerning classified information and to Government Decision no. 585/2002, which regulates the approval of national protection standards for classified information in Romania a software product has to be evaluated and certified by ORNISS in order to process classified information. In addition, any legal entity or natural person who processes and transmits classified information is bound to use accredited mechanisms and procedures.

The certSAFE and shellSAFE applications receive the accreditation consequently to a two-year long complex evaluation process that proves the high degree of security provided by the two applications. These products can be used by any legal entity or natural person, who processes classified information, up to the CONFIDENTIAL level. The use of these two solutions involves both the possibility to implement a solution for digital certificates management and to use them for the encryption and digital signing of classified information providing complete protection.. At the same time, it allows authentication to classified systems.
