We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team—someone who is eager to further develop their expertise in a dynamic environment and contribute to managing complex accounting operations, including international transactions.
As part of the Finance team, you will support day-to-day accounting activities, participate in monthly and year-end closing processes, and help ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2-3 years in a similar role or in a senior-level position
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Good understanding of Romanian accounting and tax legislation
- Experience working with an ERP system and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Intermediate level of English is considered an advantage.
Nice to have:
- Experience in accounting for international transactions
- Knowledge of VAT regulations related to exports and cross-border services
- Experience participating in financial audit processes
- Previous experience within an international company
Responsibilities:
- Review and record accounting documents in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company procedures
- Maintain accounting records for customer and supplier transactions
- Review and record bank statements and perform account reconciliations
- Participate in monthly and annual financial closing activities
- Review the VAT treatment applied to current business transactions
- Record foreign currency transactions and calculate exchange rate differences
- Prepare accounting information required for tax returns and statutory reporting
- Collaborate with external auditors and internal departments
- Participate in the accounting analysis of international transactions, including exports, imports, and cross-border services
- Identify, investigate, and report accounting or tax discrepancies.
