On Thursday, October 24, 2024, the CYBERTHREATS & CYBERSECURITY DAY 2024 conference, event organized by certSIGN in partnership with the Romanian Banking Institute, took place in Bucharest. The event, this year in its tenth edition, is one of the most important cyber security conferences in Romania and has been included in the ENISA (European Union Agency for Cyber Security) program, as part of the international profile events organized on the occasion of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM).
The conference brought together over 130 participants on-site at IBR’s headquarters, along with an online audience, to be part of the discussions on the most up-to-date topics regarding the implementation of the new legislative regulations (DORA, NIS 2), with a focus on increasing cyber security awareness, as well as providing solutions and best practices for cyber risk prevention and management.
“Ten years ago, we were discussing cybersecurity issues as exotic issue. A lot has happened over these 10 years. Practically, both technology and legislation have evolved, leading to a unified regulatory framework at the European level, now applied and implemented across all member states.. […] Regardless of how much technology is used within the organization, no matter how much money you allot to cybersecurity, the most important asset remains the people – the people you work with, the cybersecurity professionals. […] That’s why I think it’s very important – and this should be the message of this conference and of many other conferences –to train and educate your people”, pointed out Adrian Floarea, certSIGN’s CEO in his opening address.
This year’s edition of Cyberthreats & Cybersecurity Day brought together important names from the public sector, representatives of prominent institutions such as: the National Directorate for Cyber Security (DNSC), the National Bank of Romania (BNR), the Romanian Association of Banks (ARB) , the Council of Banking Patronages from Romania, the “Carol I” National Defense University. The second panel brought together national and international specialists from the private sector, representatives of the companies certSIGN, Xeduco Institute, CybeReady, Acronis and Fortinet. At the same time, innovative technological solutions were presented in the Demo & Networking area, provided by certSIGN, Samsung, CybeReady and Acronis, partners of the event.
