certSIGN confirms the ISO 37001 anti-corruption certification

certSIGN has successfully met the conditions of the ISO 37001 certification confirmation audit regarding its anti-corruption and anti-bribery management system, whose main purpose is the prevention and management of activities with a high risk of corruption.

certSIGN obtained the initial certification in 2018, being one of the first Romanian companies certified according to the ISO 37001 standard, and completed an extensive recertification process in 2021. Compliance with the ISO 37001 standard must be confirmed annually through a surveillance audit that analyzes the prevention and monitoring of bribery and corruption incidents, identifies potentially vulnerable aspects and facilitates the implementation of mitigating measures before they become critical. The certification was granted by the certification body MSECB Canada (formerly PECB) and demonstrates not only the compliance with this standard, but also the company’s effort to continuously improve processes, internal regulations, and communication regarding the importance of unethical behavior prevention.

“The certification according to the ISO 37001:2016 standard is another step in certSIGN’s efforts to contribute to an ethical and transparent business environment and represents the effort of each member of our team to build, maintain and improve a comprehensive compliance management system, based on zero tolerance towards any form of corrupt behavior, directly or through a third party,” declares Adrian Floarea, CEO of certSIGN.

certSIGN invests important resources in obtaining and maintaining the most important certifications both according to the regulatory standards of the industries in which it operates and according to the standards that govern its business activity, in order to be a reliable business partner. ISO 37001 certification plays an important role in maintaining the our partners’ trust by creating and maintaining a culture based on integrity, transparency, and compliance, which respects international norms such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act, SAPIN II, and by implementing appropriate measures to monitor and prevent corruption in the company’s current activities.

certSIGN’s certification has been reflected in AmCham’s website as a major accomplishment by a Romanian company in the fight against corruption.

ISO 37001 standard

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published the 37001 standard for anti-corruption management systems in October 2016. The ISO 37001 standard is applicable to any type of organization in both the public and private sectors, regardless of the size of the organization or the field of activity. ISO 37001 certification is a confirmation that the organization has implemented effective anti-bribery control measures. The standard has been adopted by important companies at the international level, certSIGN being one of the first Romanian companies certified according to it.
