certSIGN, partner in the ECHO cyber security project, launched by the European Commission

certSIGN attented, earlier this week, the official launch of the ECHO pilot-project (European network of Cybersecurity centres and competence Hub for innovation and Operations), developed under the coordination of the European Commission.

At the event held on February 25th at the Royal Military Academy in Brussels (Brussels), the representatives of our company – directly involved in carrying out this far-reaching project – had the opportunity to present how the certSIGN expertise in cybersecurity will contribute to the development of a proactive cyber defense in the EU.

In fact, ECHO's main purpose is to organize and optimize the efforts – currently fragmented – on cyber security in the EU.

At present, the ECHO project translates to:

• 30 partners from 15 EU member states plus Ukraine, with 13 existing cyber security competence centers and five research institutes in the field;

• 11 large enterprises;

• 4 SMEs

• 10 major universities in the field of IT security, including experts in human factors, experts in legal, ethical and communication issues.

ECHO – Focused on the development of a network of specialized cyber security, cybersecurity certification and incident detection centers – is one of the four cybersecurity projects included in Horizon 2020, the Framework Program for Research and Innovation of the European Union.
