The European Cyber Security Contest (ECSC), held this year in Malaga, has established its winners. The Romanian team won 2nd place, following the host country, Spain and Italy, which completed the podium.
Organized at the initiative of the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA), the ECSC competition aims to identify and attract talented young people from high schools and faculties to cyber security and to help train the next generation of cybersecurity specialists. This year's edition of the contest was attended by 15 teams from all European countries: Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, UK, Norway, Romania and Spain.
certSIGN, a company specialized in the development of IT security solutions, sponsored the Romanian team, providing the full support to the team members. Even since its inception, certSIGN has been continuously involved in the training of young IT professionals, through partnerships with academia, or by co-organizing similar cyber security competitions.
Last year, certSIGN supported the smooth running of the Crypt Beat competition, organized by the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), dedicated to high school students and first-year college students interested in mathematics and cryptography from EU countries.
Congratulations to the entire team and thanks to all the companies that supported the material and know-how of the Romanian team.
